About Count The Bucket

Count The Bucket is a fan-built basketball statistics reference built for fans who want more than box scores. This is meant to be something fun and useful for anyone looking to dig into stats or just settle a terrible social media debate. If that sounds like you, welcome to the club.

What it is

This is an independently built project — not affiliated with the NBA, ESPN, or any official league entity. It aggregates publicly available NBA statistics and presents them in a fast, no-nonsense interface designed for deep research.

From per-game and advanced stats to lineup data, on/off splits, shot charts, and draft history, Count The Bucket aims to be the first tab you open when you need to back up a take.

What's inside

  • Player profiles — full career stats, shooting splits, advanced metrics, and game logs
  • Team pages — roster breakdowns, lineup data, and on/off splits
  • League leaders — sortable by any stat across any season type
  • Comparison tool — pin players to your Scout Board and compare up to four at once
  • Season & Game Finder — query any player or team across any season in the database
  • Draft explorer — every pick, every class, linked back to player profiles
  • Awards archive — All-NBA, MVP, DPOY, Rookie of the Year, and more
  • Live scoreboard — real-time scores with a box score modal right in the nav
  • Prop Bets tracker — current player proposition lines alongside their recent averages

Who are we?

Alex Fischbein is the sole creator and developer of Count The Bucket. He has eight years of software development experience with 30 years of experiencing heartbreak and disappointment as a Philadelphia 76ers fan. Trusting the process isn't just a mantra, it's a lifestyle.

A note on data

All statistics are sourced from publicly available NBA data and updated automatically each day during the season. Count The Bucket is a passion project — if something looks off, it's almost certainly a sync delay rather than a calculation error.

We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBA, any of its member teams, or any third-party data providers.
